Lion Pictures Biography
source(google.com.pk)The Lion King was released in 1994, when I was just a year old. Since then, we've seen tremendous changes in all genres of cinema, and we tend to look with somewhat of a condescending air at the relics of the past, writing them off as primitive. I disagree wholeheartedly with this practice. This film, much like Pride Rock itself, has stood the test of time and continues to be a legitimate piece of artistic literature-- worth seeing and worth talking about, as illustrated by the following lessons it has taught us. Allegedly a film just for children, The Lion King goes so far beyond the mind of a child and calls upon us as global citizens to think more deeply about ourselves and our place in the universe.
Mufasa's last words (or those of his ghost, rather) to his son as he fades into the celestial background leave an echo both in Simba's heart and in ours. After the horror of the stampede that killed his father, his time away in the jungle, and his mental conversion to the "Hakuna Matata" lifestyle, these words fall heavily on Simba's conscience. "No worries" is a great escape tool to utilize from time to time, but we cannot walk away from our true identity. We can change our present and thereby our future as well, but our past is part of us-- it is an intrinsic, indelible part of our composition that, try as we may, will never be erased. Responsibility seems to be a quality extremely lacking in our society today. Who are we? Can we even remember?
As for the lions, they provide a bit of adventure as they're modeling for photos. Burrard-Lucas states of a run-in with four cubs, "They intuitively recognised the front of BeetleCam and would try to circle around to attack it from behind. They also grew bolder whenever BeetleCam retreated, swiping at it with their oversized paws. We were just getting the hang of this new game when disaster struck; BeetleCam’s front left wheel hadn’t been tightened properly and it worked its way off! The cubs instantly seemed to recognise that the buggy was in distress and they closed in...The cubs ran off with it and proceeded to have a highly raucous game as they tried to steal it off each other. We had to wait for over an hour and a half before we were finally able to retrieve the saliva-sodden tire! To our amazement, it had a few punctures but was otherwise undamaged. We slotted it back onto BeetleCam and we were ready to go again!"
There are two attributions to look out for if you're using images for business needs. These include Non-Commercial (NC) which means not used for business intentions, and No Derivative Works (ND) which permit only the original work to be utilized. To ensure the media you wish to use is not restricted in any way, confirm the license is a CC, which waives all rights of the creator in the public domain.
Another license with limited requirements is CC BY, which means users can edit the work and use it for commercial benefit as long as attribution to the original work is followed. For more info on creative commons, click here.
What does Royalty Free mean?
Royalty free means piece of media is free of copyright and may be used without paying royalty charges or a license fee; however, there may be a one-off payment to obtain the image (this is what I noticed on many sites promoting RF images). Please note that with a royalty-free image the owner still has copyright; they simply grant you a license to use it without paying royalties.
Personality
"Wha-wha-HE LET HER GO! If that were me..."
—Nuka thinks on how he would hurt Kiara
Nuka was full of angst and brooding for the first half of the film as an adolescent, complaining about not being the Chosen One in favor of the younger Kovu and not receiving Zira's attention. He made Vitani stagger back by clipping a root she was tugging on and laughing right afterwards, establishing him as sadistic like his mother but to a much lesser degree. NukaSarcastic
Nuka reluctantly singing Kovu a sarcastic lullaby During "My Lullaby," Nuka reluctantly sang Kovu a sarcastic lullaby.
Ironically, Nuka was more like Scar than Kovu (besides the fact that they look alike): For both Scar and Nuka envied their brother, who was chosen to be king over them. He seemed to be somewhat of a pyromaniac, screaming avid, "FIRE!" when setting the Pride Lands alight. Finally, he was violent, arrogant, and impulsive and tried to prove he was better than Kovu, but died in the process, making him selfish and vain.
